Crawl space volume rate

Low, tight spaces emptied by crews who do the crawling

Crawl spaces cleared of stored items and leftover debris, handed out through the hatch and onto the truck. You never have to go in.

The space nobody wants to enter

A crawl space holds whatever was pushed through the access hatch and never pulled back out: leftover building material, abandoned boxes, an old project that outlived its owner. It is out of sight, so it slides to the bottom of the list. The only way in is low, dim and cramped, and few homeowners want to spend an afternoon on their stomach.

The trouble is that debris down there tends to be awkward rather than heavy. Boards catch on joists, boxes are wedged against a foundation wall and everything has to be passed along a low tunnel to a hatch that may be only a couple of feet wide. It is slow, tiring work, and it is easier with a crew than with one person.

How the crew works from the hatch

Send a photo or short video through the hatch, along with a note on how far back the contents go, and we give you an estimate. The final price is confirmed on site, once the crew has seen the real access. The crew goes in, you stay out, and you do not need to be home once access and scope are confirmed.

Items are handed out hand to hand, staged near the hatch and carried to the 25 cubic yard truck, so the pile never builds up inside the house. Our in-house New Jersey crews do all the lifting, loading and hauling, with no subcontractors. Usable material is donated when possible, and recyclable material goes to recycling rather than the landfill.

Pricing, limits and the open floor

Crawl space loads are priced by the share of the truck they fill: $350 for a 1/16 load, $485 for 1/8, $685 for 1/4, $985 for 1/2, $1,685 for 3/4 and $1,985 for a full truck. Many crawl space jobs are small, so the lower rungs of that ladder matter. Labor, loading, hauling, disposal fees and sweep-up are included, with no hourly rate.

The limits matter more here than in most rooms. We cannot take asbestos, so suspect pipe wrap or insulation stays untouched until it has been tested. Unknown liquids, wet paint, chemicals, fuel, gasoline, propane tanks, pesticides and medical waste are also off the truck. If you see standing water or a strong smell, mention it when you call.

This is cleanout work: contents out and the area swept, with nothing left behind in the hatch. It works well ahead of a plumber, an electrician or an inspector who needs room to see. The crew serves Morris, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union and the rest of North and Central NJ, seven days a week.
