The unit that costs rent every month and gets opened twice a year
Storage units are where decisions go to wait. A parent moved into care, a divorce, a business that closed, a move that took longer than planned, and the roll-up door has stayed shut ever since while the monthly charge keeps coming. Eventually someone has to open it, look at the stack and work out how it all leaves without a truck, a crew and a free week.
The Woodbridge unit in our job photos is typical of what's inside: a refrigerator, a few mattresses, a laundry cart and whatever was piled around them. Nothing in there is unusual; it is just heavy, awkward and buried behind things you would have to move first. Our crews work units like it across Middlesex, Union and Somerset counties.
How we empty a unit without you standing in the aisle
Send a photo of the open unit, or a video from the door, along with the facility name and your access details. We estimate from that and confirm the final price on site. Once access and scope are confirmed, you don't need to be there at all, which helps if the unit is across the state or tied to a hard family decision.
Our in-house crew carries everything out in the order it comes, loads it onto the 25 cubic yard truck and drives it away. There are no subcontractors and no dumpster to rent. The big truck means a packed unit takes fewer trips. Usable furniture goes to donation and recyclable material to recycling when it can, and the floor is swept before the crew leaves.
What it costs, and what the empty unit looks like
Storage cleanouts price by truck volume: $350 for a 1/16 load, $485 for 1/8, $685 for 1/4 and $985 for 1/2. A unit packed floor to ceiling can reach 3/4 at $1,685 or a full truck at $1,985. Labor, loading, hauling, disposal fees and sweep-up are included, and there's no hourly rate.
Old units sometimes hold a can or two of what we can't take: wet paint, fuel, pesticides, propane tanks or unknown liquids, along with chemicals, asbestos and medical waste on our published list. Look through what you can before the crew arrives, or tell us in the photos, because anything on that list has to be dealt with separately.
The after photo from Woodbridge is the goal: an empty unit with the roll-up door open and a swept concrete floor, nothing left for the facility to bill you for or charge you to clear. You can hand the key back, and the monthly rent on that space is finished.
